Boah, Snowboard Hey!

Our ski camp 2011

In January 2011 we went to Mittenwald/Bavaria.
Three hours after our departure somebody in our bus said something like "It smells awful!" Everyone looked around and suddenly someone said "It's the other bus! It’s burning!" But fortunately it was only an engine trouble. After a new bus had been ordered, we continued our journey. As we arrived at the youth hostel we had dinner and went to bed.
On the next day we got snowboards, skis and so on. After that we went snowboarding for the first time. It was cool! And we were lucky with our snowboard instructors! Their names were Fabi, Radu and Rafael. Rafael told us that we needn't look at the snowboard and think "Boah Snowboard Hey, Boah Snowboard Hey!" - (first nobody knew what he was talking about) - because the snowboard knows that it's a snowboard and if we don't look in front we'll fall down.
The camp was cool and fun and we think it was the best class-trip we ever had. There were many funny moments but altogether the best thing in the week was the snowboarding.

Our great ski camp

From 9th January to 14th January I was in the downhill ski ski camp with 90 other pupils of Year 7. We stayed in a youth hostel near Mittenwald.
First, on the highway, one of our busses had a problem with its engine and we had to wait for a new bus and so we arrived at the youth hostel very late (at 7 o’clock p.m.; the other bus at 8 o’clock p.m.)
On our 2nd day we (had to) get up at 7 o’clock a.m. (like every day), at 7.30 a.m. we had breakfast. Then we got our ski equipment (or snowboard equipment) and went to the slope of Mittenwald. The beginners went to the “baby-slope” and the middle and advanced group went skiing on the slopes of Mittenwald.
The next day the middle and advanced group went to Garmisch–Patenkirchen and went skiing there. It’s a great skiing resort. There were great lifts and slopes.
On Wednesday the middle and advanced group went to the Zugspitz-area. It was a beautiful day (the sun was shining) and there was new snow. In my opinion, this was the best day.
The last day was very short - it rained and we got very wet while we went skiing. So we finished it after 2 hours.
On Friday we went back to Markkleeberg. The other new bus had problems too… At 5.30 p.m. we arrived in Markkleeberg.

I liked the camp because I like skiing and it was great there. The weather was fine and we had good skiing instructors. We had a great week.
